Vada Poston

THE PLAINS – Vada Poston, 89, of The Plains, died early Monday morning, April 25, 2016 at The Laurels of Athens. Born August 5, 1926 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Lott and Mary Nida Bricker. She was a 1944 graduate of The Plains High School and a member of The Plains Nazarene Church. She was a former employee of Belk’s and retired from the Athens County Commissioners office and The Plains Library. She is survived by a stepson, Wayne Poston of Bradenton, FL; a step granddaughter, Stacey Poston of Durham, NC; a step grandson, David Poston of Atlanta, GA; a special cousins, Lyn and Don Brown; and special friends, Marge White, Judy and Roger Meyer, and Charlotte Pedigo. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, Emmett; and a sister, Margaret E. Bricker. Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Dupler officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
