Clarice E. Shields

ATHENS – Clarice E. Shields, 92, of Athens, died early Friday morning, April 22, 2016 at her home. Born December 18, 1923 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Rose Bean Porter. She was a member of the Athens VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3477, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 21, and the Redman Lodge. She is survived by her companion of 45 years, Steve Cooper; three children, Sharon Ulsemheimer of Geauga County, Bernard Williams of Athens County; Barry (Cathy) Shields of Athens County; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a a great great grandchild. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Shields; a son, Danny Shields; a daughter, Debra Shields Cline; and a grandson. Private gravesides services will be held at the convenience of the family at West Union Street Cemetery with Rev. Bill Hunter officiating. Arrangements are by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home where .
