New Marshfield – Ethel F. Elliott, 87, of New Marshfield, passed away peacefully Monday, April 4, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born December 13, 1928 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Pickett and Carrie Dowler Pickett Derrington. Ethel enjoyed spending time with family and traveling. She also enjoyed camping and was an active member of Southern Ohio Sam’s Camping Club, which is a local chapter of the Ohio Good Sam Organization. She had touched many lives and made a multitude of friends through her camping adventures. Ethel is survived by a sister, Katherine VanDyke; three daughters, Karen (Joe) Martin, Clara Elliott, Kenda (Ray) Secoy; a son, Bill (Vickie) Elliott; a son-in-law, Steven Hopkins; a special family friend, Bernita Wessel; seven grandchildren, Bob (Helen) Martin, Michelle (Rick) Ruble, Doug (Amy) Hopkins, Erica (Mitch) Yager, Alicia (Josh) Green, Lindsey (Josh) Zeigler, Ryan Elliott (Kat Weaver); 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth; a daughter, Joelyn Hopkins; three brothers, Hughie, Dewey, and Guy Pickett; and a sister, Verna Adams. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Love officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery.
