NEW MARSHFIELD – James Eric “Hoss” Douglas, 29, of New Marshfield, died Tuesday afternoon, February 16, 2016 from injuries received in an auto accident. Born March 8, 1986 in Athens, he was the son of Mark and Pam Zimmerman Douglas of Athens. He was a 2004 graduate of Athens High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Ohio University in 2008. He was employed at Miba Bearings in McConnelsville and attended the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church. He also was a member of the Athens Fish & Game Club. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Lynn Andrews Douglas; his nephew, Brock Shaner; grandparents, Virginia Douglas, Ralph and Dorothy Zimmerman; aunts and uncles, Sue Wilkes, Mike (Lindy) Douglas and children Lydia and Michael; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Duane and Lynn Andrews; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Samantha and Ethan Burchfield; his special four legged companion, Miss Lilly; and several great aunts and uncles, cousins, plus many special and close friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Dawn Douglas; his grandfather, Alton “Wimp” Douglas; his niece, Allie Douglas; and his great grandparents. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at The Plains United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Bates Cemetery.
