ATHENS – James H. Breeze, 88, of Lancaster, formerly of Athens, died early Tuesday morning, December 1, 2015 at The Pickering House in Lancaster. Born November 25, 1927 in Columbus, he was the son of the late Harry Breeze and Mary Bell Breeze and was reared by his great aunt, the late Mattie Treace. He was a graduate of Athens High School and retired from McBee’s. He was a US Marine Veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion, Post 21, and the Amesville Masonic Lodge 279. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anita; a son, Craig breeze; two grandchildren, Shawn and Courtney Breeze; three great grandchildren; and a lifelong friend, M.D. Moore. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Breeze; and a brother, William Breeze. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens where Military Services will be conducted by the Athens American Legion, Post 21, Athens VFW, Post 3477, and Albany VFW, Post 9893. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Masonic Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM.
