THE PLAINS—Virginia McKibben, 89, of The Plains, died late Tuesday evening, October 20, 2015 at her home. She was born September 23, 1926 in Logan County, West Virginia to the late Nathan and Della McKinney Jordan. She was a homemaker and also a member of The Poston United Methodist Church. She is survived by nine siblings, Ruth Harris of The Plains, Charles Jordan of Glouster, Clara Jean Sayers of Valdosta, Georgia, James (Jean) Jordan of Glouster, Marie (Paul) Elswick of Circleville, Nancy (Howard) Sharpe of The Plains, Joe (Bernita) Jordan of Athens, Denver (Sandy) Jordan of Shade, and Barb (Joe) Phillips of Athens; a sister-in-law and special friend Mary Champlin. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold H. McKibben, and three brothers, Ray, Clarence, and Ronald Jordan. A private graveside service was held on Friday, October 23 which Pastor Paul Elswick officiated. Burial was in New Marshfield Cemetery. Per her request, no public services were observed. In lieu of flowers, it is asked donations be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, 4742 N. 24th Street, Suite 400, Phoenix, Arizona 85016.
