Janet L. Varner

AMESVILLE—Janet Varner, 82, of Amesville, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday morning October 10 at her home. Born April 25, 1933 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Sarah Betts Dowler. She was a graduate of Athens High School and was a cook for restaurants in the Athens area for many years. She is survived by seven children, James (Merry) Varner, Robert Varner, Rebecca Bailey, Connie Varner, Lisa (Bill) McCammon, Sarah Varner, Gary Varner; many grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Joann (Bob) Masten. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Varner; a son, Dennis Varner; a grandson, David Varner; a granddaughter, Melissa Varner; and a son-in-law, Charles Bailey. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Pastors Garry Dickerson and Jason Bailey officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery.
