ATHENS – Evea Lou Carrico, 86, of Athens, formerly of Stewart, passed away Saturday morning October 3, 2015 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center. Born November 4, 1928 in Parkersburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late J. Louis and Evea A. Parmiter Winner. She was a graduate of Rome-Canaan High School and Ohio University. She taught high school for a combined 17 years at Logan, Middleport, Albany and Laurelville high Schools and was a former employee of the Athens Mental Health Center. She was a former member of the New England Presbyterian Church and a member of The United Methodist Church in The Plains and a member of the former Minear Chapter 274 Order of the Eastern Star in Guysville. She is survived by several Nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Carrico, and three sisters, Mary E. Winner, Florence K. Michaels, and Catherine M. Lenart. Services will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. David Roach officiating. Burial will be in Guysville Cemetery.
