ALBANY –Sharon Rose “Slippery Rock” Gillett Wingo, 73, of Albany, went to be with the Lord on September, 17, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Gallia County. Life-long resident of Athens County, she was born to the late Harold and Mary West Gillett December 14, 1941 in Canaan Township, Athens County, Ohio. Sharon enjoyed 51 years of marriage to Terry Wingo of Albany, who were wed on April 4, 1964. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking. Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, James (Betty) Gillett of McFarland, WI, Teresa (Brian) Taylor of Gallia County, Tina Willard of Kingman, AZ; nine grandchildren, Josh Wingo, Michael Donohue, Elisabeth Conant, Jennifer Warren, Robert Conant, Timothy Donohue, Marissa Gillett, Miranda Gillett, Cory Gillett, five step grandchildren, Tabitha Taylor, Robert Taylor, Nicholas Malesko, Ryan Jacob, Jeffery Jacob; 16 great grandchildren of whom enjoyed her loving spirit and guidance; eight siblings, Virginia Ruth of Tampa, FL, Barbara Nicholes of Craig, CO, Sue (George) Otten of Marietta, Francis Tate of The Plains, Lucy Grantham of Nelsonville, Norma (Craig) Downey of Forest Grove, OR, Sandy (Jerry) Evener of Athens, and Ted (Randy) Gillett of Athens. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Wanda Whitesall, Bonita Reeder, and June Hanning. Services will be Friday at 2:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Foster officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM and Friday one hour prior to the service.
