NEW MARSHFIELD – Michael F. “Murph” Gilbraith, 55, of New Marshfield, died Monday afternoon, March 30, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born August 9, 1959 in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Franklin Gilbraith and Barbara Hickman Rice. He was a 1977 graduate of Athens High School and was employed with Athens Hocking Recycling Center. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and his grandbabies. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Stotts Gilbraith; a son, Lane Gilbraith of Canaanville; two stepdaughters, Tanaiah (Brad) Hawk of New Marshfield, Tessa (Michael) McClain of Nelsonville; six grandchildren, Abby, Jake, Tyler, Gabriella, Michael, Nichole; four brothers, Kenneth (Sherri) Gilbraith of The Plains, Terry (Rita) Gilbraith of McArthur, Steve Gilbraith of Columbus, Larry Joe (Roxanne) Gilbraith of Millfield; a brother-in-law, Paul (Ginger) Stotts of Logan; several nephews; and special friends, Jimmie Dale, Ralph, and Joy Withem. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Jerry Gilbraith. A memorial service will be Saturday at 3:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Owen Stotts officiating.
