William Rolland Love, Jr

ATHENS – William Rolland Love, Jr., 53, of Athens, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 23, 2015 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital. Born August 4, 1961 in Athens, he was the son of William R. and Patty A. Bobo Love of Athens, OH. He was a 1979 graduate of Athens High School. He was a Route Salesman for Heiner’s/Sara Lee with 20 years of service this month. He was dedicated, hard working and rarely missed work in 20 years. He was an assistant manager at Bob’s Supermarket on Route 50 from 1981-1995. He and his family were inducted into the Ohio Historical Society First Families of Athens County in 2004. He was the most kind-hearted, and gentle man, an exceptional and loving husband, father and son. He loved music, enjoyed and was always a proud supporter of his son’s bands and all their members. He was a true Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was an avid reader of many subjects including History, Music History, Genealogy and thoroughly enjoyed the History Channel. He enjoyed a challenge, and could fix anything. A great lover of animals, he was truly “man’s best friend” to our dog Abby, and cats Buddy and Tinn. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Christi A. (Durham) Love; a son, Christopher William Love of Athens, OH and his loving parents. He is also survived by Uncles, Richard (Dale) Bobo of Rapid City, SD, Donald (Roseanne) Bobo of McArthur, OH, Harley Bobo, Jr. of San Francisco, CA, Stephen (Myong) Bobo of Vacaville, CA, Vernon (Juanita) Bobo of McArthur, OH; an aunt, Linda (John) Ward of McArthur, OH; a great aunt, Olive “Sis” Jones of Melbourne, FL; a sister-in-law, Diana Stalnaker, brothers-in-law, Jeff Diehl, Bob Hill and C.W. (Chrissy) Durham, III all of Marietta, OH. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Watson and Jane Love, Harley and Mary Bobo; his father-in-law, Charles W. Durham, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Jane Diehl; and grandparents, Charles and Carolina Durham. Calling hours will be Friday, March 27, 2015 from 4-8 PM and Saturday 1-4 PM at the First Baptist Church on East State Street in Athens, OH with a memorial service to start at 4 PM with Pastor James H.
