Janey L. Hughes

ATHENS – Janey Louise Hughes, 84, of Columbus, formerly of Athens, died early Thursday morning, February 19, 2015 in Columbus. Born April 16, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Wesley M. and Blanche D. Briley Hughes. She was a graduate of The Plains High School, attended The First Christian Church in Athens and was employed as a housekeeper. She is survived by a niece, Joyce Rawson; a nephew, Bruce Sprague; and two great nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Hughes, Dorothy Sprague, Virginia Hughes; four brothers, Charles, Clifford, George, and Marvin Hughes. Services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Jeff Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in West Union Street Cemetery.
