Marie Scurlock

ATHENS – Marie Scurlock, 79, of Dover, formerly of Athens, died Saturday afternoon, November 15, 2014 in Dover. Born August 9, 1935 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Rhoda Jeffers Gwinn. She is survived by a son, John Scurlock of Columbus; a stepson, Jim Scurlock of Wisconsin; two grandsons, Zachary Scurlock, Lucas Scurlock; three siblings, Blanche (Wilbur) Parmiter of Athens, Paul Dean Gwinn of Athens, Linda Linscott of Dover; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Scurlock; a brother, Gene Gwinn; and a sister, Grace Ardent. Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Bill O’Brien officiating. Burial will be in Bates Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 3 to 6 PM.
