Raiford D. Kirkendall

ATHENS – Raiford D. Kirkendall, 76, of Athens, died Monday afternoon, October 20, 2014 at Wexner Heritage Village Zusman Hospice in Columbus. Born October 26, 1937 in Chauncey, he was the son of the late Luther and Eileen Savage Kirkendall. He was a 1955 graduate of Albany High School and was a retired self employed floor cover installer most of his life. He is survived by his special companion of 30 years, Mary Cole; three sons, Tim (Kristi) Kirkendall, Greg (Teresa) Kirkendall, Jeff (Debbie) Kirkendall all of Albany; six grandchildren, Stacy (Stephen), Tim (Bekah), Skyler, Rylan, Kristen (Jon), Brandon (Jessica); five great grandchildren; six siblings, Linda Dowler of Athens, Roy Kirkendall of The Plains, Joy (Bob) Dowler of The Plains, Fred (Jeannie) Kirkendall of The Plains, Tony (Penny) Brooks of Guysville, Jim (Valerie) Kirkendall of Athens and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Jean Gilkey; and a brother, Tom Kirkendall. Services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Denver Dodrill officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral Home Thursday from 4 to 8 PM.
