Elias F Bails

ATHENS - Elias F. Bails age 96 of Athens passed away on August 01, 2014 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center in The Plains. Born on July 17, 1918 in Athens County he was the son of the late William Albert and Lenna McNeil Bails. Elias served in The Unites States Army during WWII as a Staff Sgt. and was stationed in England and Ireland. Elias is survived by his Step Son Gail Sedwick and wife Linda Sedwick of Albany, 6 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grand Children and 2 Great, Great Grand daughters. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Carolyn Mae Bails; two Brothers Raymond and Clarence; a sister Ada Ball; a step son, Gerald and wife Judy Sedwick, and a Granddaughter Melissa Sedwick. Calling hours will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday August 5, at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens with funeral service to be at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at the Asbury Cemetery in Carthage Twp. where Military services will be conducted by the Athens American Legion Post 21, Athens VFW Post 3477, and the Albany VFW Post 9893.
