Jeff Behrens

ATHENS – Jeff Behrens, 59, of Athens, passed Friday afternoon, July 25, 2014 at his home. Born November 24, 1954 in Berea, he was the son of Betty (Charles Tenwick) Warner and the late Donald Behrens. Jeff was a mechanical designer in the Cleveland area for 30 years before leaving to pursue his dream to be a teacher. Jeff received his bachelors degree from Ohio University in 2006 and while teaching, received his masters degree from Ohio University in education in 2012. He was a life long coach of wrestling and baseball and also officiated wrestling for 25 years. Jeff’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Eve; two children, Shanda Michelle (Rob Buzby) Behrens of Columbus, Ryan Karl (Janet) Behrens of Columbus; two grandchildren, Jackson and Devon Behrens; two brothers, Jim Behrens, Ray (Lisa) Behrens; a sister, Carol (Dennis) Graves; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 5:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
