GLOUSTER – Larry Eugene Bing, 72, of Glouster, died Monday morning, March 17, 2014 at his home. Born January 20, 1942 in Hemlock Grove, he was the son of the late Elba Eugene and Nora Rheda Jeffers Bing. He was a graduate of Shade High School. After high school, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but instead, he joined the US Army. He was retired from Athens Flooring Company and Athens Hocking Recycling Center was a member of The Plains VFW Post 7174. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by three children, Barbara (Suliman) Abdullah of Worthington, Robert (Renee) Bing of Galloway, Amanda Bing of Murray City; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one on the way; four siblings, Donna (Robert) Lee of Shade, Mildred (Bob) Mathers of Shade, Gordon (Margot) Bing of Millfield, Regina Bing of Cleveland; a special uncle, Oris Ray Jeffers and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife on December 13, 2013, Mary Jo Bing; and a daughter, Brenda Jo Bing Dodd. A memorial service will be Thursday at 5:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. John Wright officiating.
