Peggy J. Sayre

AMESVILLE – Peggy J. Sayre, 82, of Amesville, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her home. Born March 13, 1931 in Amesville, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie V. McKinley Budworth and step daughter of the late Herman L. Budworth. Graduate of Ames-Bern High School, class of 1949. After graduation, she became a bookkeeper at F.W. Woolworth Company Store 1601 in Athens for 45 years, never missing a day in 12 years of school and the 45 years of work. She married her late husband, Orland L. Sayre of 58 years in January 1951. She loved giving and helping people, always saying the more you give, the more you receive and she really did feel blessed. If you knew Peg at all, you will always remember the big smile on her face and the way she would tell you what she really thought and what was on her mind. She loved telling jokes and stories and making people laugh. Her life was rich with friends and family. It was filled with joy of sharing, teaching hard work and laughter. She excelled at all she set her hand to. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Polluck officiating. Burial will be in Amesville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 7 PM and Friday one hour prior to the service.
