ATHENS – Najee Emerson Muhammad, 69, of Athens died Saturday morning, March 8, 2014 at his home. Born November 24, 1944 in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Emerson and Fazelia Harris Sherman. He received his Ed.D. from the University of Cincinnati specializing in Philosophy and History of Education. As an early retired professor at Ohio University in Cultural Studies of Education after 17 years of service, Najee also was an avid golfer and jazz aficionado. He is survived by his wife Robin; three children, Sean, Julian and Dawn Sherman; as well as several grandchildren. Friends may call at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 to7:00 pm.
