ATHENS - JoAnn Chiki, 88, of Athens, passed away early Saturday morning, March 1, 2014 at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. Born December 26, 1925 in Chauncey, she was the daughter of the late George and Gladys Bradfield Williamson, Sr. JoAnn was a 1943 graduate of Chauncey-Dover High School and attended Ohio University studying Journalism. Her married life was spent as a homemaker. She was a member of the Chauncey Christian Church and a former member of the Child Conservation League of Athens. She was a hard working, loving and dedicated wife and mother. JoAnn is survived by four sons, Thomas (Patricia) Chiki, Randall (Susan) Chiki, Steven (Linda) Chiki, Jeffrey (Nancy) Chiki; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, George “Bud” and Mary Jo Williamson, Jr. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 64 years, Arthur L. Chiki who passed away on April 30, 2011; and a son Ronald who passed away on October 27, 2007. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Gary Alton officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
