THE PLAINS - Laura Mae Sayre, Age 98 of The Plains passed away on Feb. 20, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson, OH. She was born on September 30, 1915 in Pratts Fork, OH, the daughter of the late GH and Ida Frost Williams. She graduated from Shade High School in 1933. Preceded in death by her first husband Fred Sapp in 1964, her second husband Jack Sayre in 2004, and brother Wilbur Williams. She is survived by her daughter Grace A Rodehaver, grandchildren David (Claire) Rodehaver, and Robin Boehmer and great grandchildren Christopher (Chelsie) Boehmer, Steven (Meghan) Boehmer, Sarah, Emily and Mary Rodehaver, and brother Rev. George Williams who was always there for her, also many loving step-children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and good friends, especially Mark and Jody Stickel and Joe and Bessie Miller. A talented seamstress, artist and hair stylist Mrs. Sayre was also co-founder of the Fairview and Parkette Drive Ins with Fred, Dale and Janice Sapp. She was a lifelong member of Christ Community Wesleyan Church. She touched many people in her 98 years and left us all better for knowing her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Melling for the loving care she gave Laura in her final few months at home. We would also like to thank Larry Miller for all his help and support and Ethel Pierce, niece, friend and backup “hair stylist”. Many thanks to the nurses and aides of Holzer Hospice and the wonderful staff of Holzer Medical Center for all they have done to help Laura and family, making her final journey more comfortable and peaceful.
