THE PLAINS--Angelores Gevas, 91, passed away on Tuesday, January 14 at the Lindley Inn. She had been a resident of the Lindley Inn for the past ten years. Ann was born on July 4, 1922 in Yorkville, Ohio, graduated from Yorkville High School in 1940 and was the daughter of Pete and Sophia Savoglu Gevas. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Doris Gevas and Aspasia Gevas Couladis and a brother Emmanuel Gevas. Ann was a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, Athens and The Plains, Ohio. She worked for Westinghouse Electric in Baltimore for more than 40 years as an accounting clerk in their Comptrollers Office. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Columbus, Ohio). Her hobbies were traveling abroad to many countries, photography, cooking for family and she was an avid reader. She is survived by a brother, Dr. George (Mary) Gevas of Parkersburg, W.Va., many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a sister-in-law, Irene Gevas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens with Fr. Mark Elliott officiating. Interment will be at Athens Memory Gardens.
