ATHENS – Frank Robert Bernosky, II, of Athens, went to be with to heaven, Saturday January 11, 2014 at Kimes Nursing and Rehab Center. Born April 14, 1919 in Adena, he was the son of the late Frank Robert and Petronella Bonk Bernosky. He retired from Simco-Peabody Coal Company in Coshocton and was a WWII US Army Veteran that served in Europe. He received 5 Bronze Stars for his actions in WWII. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Athens and a Life Member of the Athens VFW and the Athens American Legion. He enjoyed all sports, reading, doing puzzles and watching TV. He is survived by three sons, Bob (Carolyn) Bernosky of Reynoldsburg, Gary (Betsy Schoonover) Bernosky of The Plains, and Jim (Jan) Bernosky of Athens; a grandson, Matt (Lisa) Bernosky of Gahanna; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Catherine (Kay) Kozel Bernosky; siblings, Walter Bernosky, Andy Bernosky, Josephine Mueller, Stanley Bernosky, John Bernosky, Helen Gasior and Blanche Lebioda. Public calling hours will be Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. At the convenience of the family, a private graveside ceremony will be held at Athens Memory Gardens.
