THE PLAINS – Garry Lee Kittle, Sr., 64, of The Plains, died Monday evening, December 9, 2013 at Ohio State University Hospital. Born May 27, 1949 in Athens County, he was the son of the late Homer Wilson and Gladys Louriene Stover. He attended Amesville High School and was formerly employed at Motyre as service manager. Garry was one the longest living recipients of a heart transplant, receiving his in 1988, which allowed him to council other transplant recipients. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean; two children, Melinda Nichols of The Plains, Garry Kittle, Jr.; five grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one sister, Linna (Vince) Limo of Glouster; two brothers, Fred W. Kittle of Athens, Phillip W. Kittle of Albany; a special friend, Rose A. Kittle of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herman W. Kittle. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home for expenses.
