ATHENS – Florabel Evener, 84, of Athens died Tuesday afternoon, November 19, 2013 at her home. Born November 3, 1929 in Nelsonville, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Hazel Williams Bobo. She was a 1948 graduate of Chauncey Dover High School and a former bookkeeper for several area businesses. She was good at and enjoyed cooking and baking as well as sewing and decorating. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill Evener; two daughters, Diana (Richard) Bainey of Athens and Debra Guarneri of Centerville; three grandchildren, Shelley McKee, Scott Mingus and Philip Guarneri; four great grandchildren, Riley Bobo, Grace Bobo, Emily Mingus and Alison Mingus. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Phillips; a grandson, Alex Bobo; and a brother, Hubert Bobo. Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Covert officiating. Burial will be at Athens Memory Gardens.
