ATHENS – William E. “Bill” Bulger, 86, of Athens, died early Tuesday morning, September 10, 2013 at his home. Born January 31, 1927 in Everett, PA, he was the son of the late William James and Ida Zimmerman Bulger. He retired from Ohio University in 1988 and was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member and past commander of 14 years of The Plains VFW Post 7174. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanne; two sons, Randy (Michele)Bulger and William E. “Bill” Bulger all of Athens; three grandchildren, Courtney, Lee and Jacob Bulger; two brothers, Ron and Harry “Knoxie” Bulger, both of Everett, PA; a sister, Shirley Johnson of Everett, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Bill McManis officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 21, Athens VFW Post 3477, and Albany VFW Post 9893.
