ALBANY – Emerson F. “Red” Everett, 69, of Albany, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born March 7, 1944 in Athens County, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen Thompson Everett. He was a graduate of Ames-Bern High School and retired from Meigs 2 coal mine. He is survived by a daughter, Lyn (Todd) Thompson of Athens; a granddaughter, Kinley Gwinn of Albany; three step grandsons, Forest, Chase and Coltin Thompson all of Athens; a step granddaughter, Jade Thompson of Illinois; two sisters, Marie Douglas of Chauncey, Goldie Everett of The Plains; three nieces and one nephew; and a special friend, Karen Turner. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Denver Dodrill officiating.
