ATHENS – Wilma L. (Peg) Woods, 91, of Athens formerly of Londonderry passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital. Wilma was born July 27, 1921 in Hocking County. She was the daughter of the late Dewey and Helen Brown McDaniel. She graduated from Union Furnace High School in 1939. Wilma was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Bert) Miller of Athens; two grandsons, John (Kim) Miller and David (Michelle) Miller both of Athens; six great grandchildren, Brittany (Derek) Young of Nelsonville, Tyler Miller, Haley Devore, Isaac Miller, Ian Miller and Iden Miller all of Athens and a great great granddaughter, Isabella Young of Nelsonville; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Woods of New Marshfield; a brother-in-law, Dick Bobo of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Woods in 2009; infant son, Charles Timothy Woods in 1951; brothers, Glenn McDaniel and Dick and his wife Eleanor McDaniel; mother and father-in-law, M.G. and Florence Shingler Woods; brother-in-law, Glenn Woods; sisters-in-law, Adrian Whaley, Eileen Reighard, Joy Bobo and Jill Ward. Graveside services will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at New Marshfield Cemetery with Rev. Monte McCune officiating. There will be no public calling hours observed.
