Brian Russell Walker

February 29, 1956 — March 26, 2013

Brian Russell Walker Athens – Brian Russell Walker passed away March 26, 2013 in Wilmore, Kentucky where he was enrolled at the Asbury Theological Seminary. Brian was born February 29, 1956 to the late William Parker and Mary Evalyn Russell Walker. He was a graduate of Ohio University (BFA), and the University of Toledo College of Law (JD). Receiving a call to serve his Lord through the love and encouragement of the church family at The Plains United Methodist Church, where he had been a lay speaker, Brian left the practice of law after 23 years and enrolled at the Asbury Theological Seminary in 2009. Brian is survived by the three loves of his life, his wife, Anne (Leonard) Walker; daughter, Courtney A. Boulware (Eric) of Ridgefield, Connecticut; and son, Colin M. Walker (fiancé, Ashley Page) of Wilmore, Kentucky. Also, surviving are his sister, Marcia J. Walker, Johnstown, Ohio; his brothers, William R. Walker (Debra), Athens, Ohio; Brent D. Walker (Lisa), Worthington, Ohio; four nieces and a nephew. Brian had the blessings of a wonderful, supportive wife of 30 years and the loving relationship of his daughter and son. With his daughter he shared laughter filled, windswept Cedar Point roller coaster rides, and with his son, hockey, and walking and hunting in the woods. Brian was a remarkable person whose accomplishments, in the face of his lifetime adversity, will be forever remembered by his family. Brian is now in the arms of his Savior and Lord; his lifetime tribulations washed away. At his request, a private family service was held and, thereafter, his body cremated, to be scattered at the site where he and his wife, Anne, had their first date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Brian’s memory be made to: The Plains United Methodist Church, 3 North Plains Road, The Plains, Ohio, 45780, or to Asbury Seminary Ministry Partners Scholarship Fund, 204 North Lexington Avenue, Wilmore, Kentucky, 40390 Arrangements are by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home where you may send a message of sympathy at www.hughesmoquinfuneralhome.com.
