ATHENS - Adeline Num Soon Kim Gura, 85 of Athens, died Monday night, August 13, 2012 at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Zanesville. Born February 20, 1927 in Ewa, Hawaii, she was the daughter of the late Cheung Kun and Suzanna Yong Oake Yue Kim. She was a member of the St. Pauls Catholic Church. She is survived by one daughter, Susan (William) Durfee of Athens; two sons, F. Richard Jr. (Sandra) Gura of Zanesville and Jeffery (Tammy) Gura of Millfield; nine grandchildren, Bryan Durfee, Carl Gilkey, RJ Gura, Scott Gura, Steven Gura, Kelly Spicer, Matthew Gura, Kristin Schultz and Chelsie Gura; a great grandson, Aiden Schultz; three sisters, Lillian Yoshida of Hawaii, Margarite Matsumura of Hawaii, and Ella (Creston) Southard of North Carolina. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Francis R. Gura, whom she married April 28, 1945; two brothers, Albert Kim and Howard Kim; and one sister, Suzanna Kim. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Pauls Catholic Church with Msgr Patrick Gaughan officiating. Burial will be at ATHENS -emory Gardens. Friends may call at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Thursday from 5-8 PM. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 5 PM, followed by a service conducted by the Catholic Ladies of Columbia #165.
