ATHENS - Emogene Yeager-Coen, 90 of ATHENS died Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born October 4, 1921 in Point Pleasant, WV, she was the daughter of the late Curt and Zora Yeager. She graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1940, and was a founding member of the Point Pleasant High School Alumni Association, also a member of the foundation to provide financial assistance to students. She never missed a meeting of the Alumni Dinner of her Alma-Mater. She was employed at the ATHENS -ental Health Center for 35 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Registered X-Ray Technician. She was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church since 1945, and also a member of the Shade Community Center. Emogene is survived by her husband, Emory Coen, and his children, Rose Ann Sedwick, Linda Niceswanger, Gregory Coen and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Coen; five sisters, Mildred Hooper, Ruth Conkey, and Glenna Grim of Athens, Martha Lou Bingham of Ravenswood, WV and Cora Mae Hooper of Sun City, Florida; also, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, William Yeager, and son-in-law, Darrell Coen. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Karen Crawford officiating. Burial will be at ATHENS -emory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of the service.
