ATHENS - Marguerite Cassels, 90, of ATHENS died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 27, 1921 in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Bert C. and Esta Mabel Parsons Miller. She was formerly employed as a housekeeper at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and was a loving mother, and very loving grandmother. She is survived by four children: two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Roger Stewart of Athens, Unita and Cecil Coconougher of Athens; son, Jim Cassels of Athens, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tracy Cassels of Athens; Four granddaughters, Rogena Holliman, Rogetta and Michael Sigman, Jaime and Lionel Wilson, and Marcia and Tim Brooks; five grandsons, Roger and Jennifer Stewart, Cecil and Crystal Coconougher, PJ Cassels, and Michael and Bryan Cassels; ten great grandchildren, Roger III, Joe III, and Josh Stewart, Whitlee Sigman, Evan Holliman, Deija Smith, Malaki and Makayla Brooks, Avery and Myles Coconougher; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, James Eugene Cassels; two brothers, Ed and Otto Miller; two infant brothers; five sisters, Mary Brooks, Eunice Dicken, Charlotte Perry, Annabelle Hudnall and Betty Brooks. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
