ATHENS - Derrick Lee Williams, 27, of Athens, died Friday morning, March 9, 2012 in Huntington, WV from injuries received in an auto accident. Born November 24, 1984 in Vernal, Utah, he was the son of Teresa (Terry) Miles and Lonny (Marilyn) Williams. He was a 2003 graduate of Alexander High School and attended Tri-County. He was employed with Asplundh Tree Trimming. Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Nancy (Danny) Keirns; maternal grandfather, Ben (Rose) Warner; a companion, Chandra Smyers; two aunts, Pam (Curtis) Martin, Maryanne (Ike) Weiss; uncles, Danny (Jessica) Keirns and Mike (Rebbecca) Warner; and many other aunts and uncles; a cousin, Cayla (Trent) Exline; and many other cousins; and close friends, Jeremiah Croston and Chase Malloy. He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandmother, Mary Horn Stephenson and a dear friend, Andy Withrow. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Stewart officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday two hours prior to the service.
