AMESVILLE - Michael L. Walter, 61, of Amesville, died Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2011 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Born July 25, 1950 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Roy and June Walter. He was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran, a member and trustee of the AmVets Post 76, member of the American Legion Post 21, VFW Post 9866, and the Brothers of the Third Wheel. He is survived by his wife, Lori; sons, Jamie Walter and Michael (Roxann) Walter; step daughters, Erin (Scott) Hostler, Brooke (Tim) Grubb, and Kerry (Ryan) Grimm; his grandchildren, Brenna, Wyatt and Colson Hostler, Ethan Grubb, Hunter and Karlee Grimm, Destinee and Lily Walter, and Madison Walter; his brothers, Greg Walter and John (Sherry) Walter; his sisters, Gayle (Carl) Hoag, Judy (Harold) Collins, Teresa (Chris) Miller, Susan Foster and Linda (Steve) Lozier; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Thomas Walter. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Monte McCune officiating. Burial will be at Amesville Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the ATHENS -merican Legion, ATHENS -FW and Albany VFW.
