&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; MILLFIELD - John W. Russell, 75, of Millfield, died Saturday evening, November 26, 2011 at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital. Born April 1, 1936 in Dover Township, he was the son of the late William Riley and Mildred Evelyn Wiess Russell. He was a Chauncey Dover High School graduate and retired as superintendent from the Ohio Department of Transportation after 30 years of service and was formerly a bus driver for the ATHENS -ity Schools. He was a member of the Glouster Masonic Lodge and the Sertoma Club. John started the Russell Building in Millfield where community events were held including square dances which he enjoyed calling. He is survived by four children, Jerry (Marcia) Russell of Millfield, John (Cindy) Russell of Nelsonville, Joe Russell of Millfield, Judy Russell of Millfield; eleven grandchildren, Melody, Tad, Jeremy, John III, Evelyn, Kendra, Michele, Shawn, Brooke, Rachel, Jason; five great grandchildren, Abbey, Ethan, Amelia, Trenton, Demetry; three brothers, Lance (Ruth) Russell of Millfield, Howard (Ruth) Russell of Chauncey, Dave (Norma) Russell of Millfield; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Spot. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie M. Russell. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. Burial will be in ATHENS -emory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 6 to 8 PM. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in his name to Appalachian Community VNA Hospice and Health Services, 30 Herrold Avenue, Athens, Ohio 45701.
