Harold Douglas

ATHENS - Harold D. Douglas, 85 of ATHENS -ent to be with the Lord, Sunday afternoon, October 23, 2011 at his home. Born September 8, 1926 in ATHENS county, he was the son of the late Leo and Gertrude Evans Douglas. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and an Elder and member of the Vore Ridge Community Church.&nbsp;He was formerly employed with Woody Sherwoodchr(39)s Tree Trimming Service for many years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma Hart Douglas; four children, Lloyd Douglas of the home, Gerald (Linda) Douglas of Albany, Ruby (Jerry) Misner of ATHENS and Debbie (Kenny) McDaniel of Athens; several grand children and great grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Mabel Mclanahan of Albany and Helen Hawk formerly of Athens. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Jean, Herbert, and Jim. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Ed Barney officiating. Burial will be at Grahams Chapel where military sevices will be conducted by ATHENS -FW Post 3477, Albany VFW Post 9893, and the American Legion Post 21 Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
