<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;" align="justify">ATHENS - Karen Lynn Welch, 46, of ATHENS -assed away Wednesday morning, August 17, 2011 at her home. <div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;" align="justify">Born December 18, 1964 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late James "Frank& and Marlene Miller Barnhart.&nbsp; She was a 1984 ATHENS High School graduate. She is survived by her husband, Tim Welch; children Teresa (Bruce) Sawyer, John Lamb, and step children, Jacob and Breeanna Welch; grandchildren, Christopher and Emma Sawyer; her sisters and brother, Cheryl (Gordon) Williams and children, David and Charles Rood, and Amanda (Justin) McCumber; Kathy Fracasso and children, Christopher and Candice Perry; Gary (Wendy) Barnhart and children, Jason and Derek (Cindy) Barnhart; Betty (Harry) Smith and children, Betty Frances (John) Losey, Danny (Misty) and Paul Smith; Mary (Terry) Powell and children, Wayne, Joey and James Powell; Ruth Kennedy and children, Tracy, Johnny and Jimmy (Rhonda) Kennedy; the father of her children, Verl Lamb; her father and mother-in-law, Larry (Carolyn) Welch; her foster father, Harry Holdcroft; her foster sister, Christy (Matthew) Hixson and children, Sabrena (AJ) Baker, Tabitha and Harold Peters, and Amber (Tom) Gould. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Barnhart, and foster mother Barbara Holdcroft. Memorial services will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Dave Cogar officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home for expenses.
