Dorothy Landis

ATHENS - Dorothy Landis, 91 of ATHENS -ent to Heaven Thursday morning, July 28, 2011 at her home. Born March 21, 1920 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Addison and Hazel Dunfee Baker. She and her husband formerly owned and operated Landot Auto Parts. She was a former member of the Childrens Service Board, volunteered with the Red Cross and Historical Society and was a member of the First Christian Church of Athens. She is survived by her children, Connie (Bob) Thompson of Athens, Becky (Sandy) Harold of Athens, Earl (Nancy) Landis of Athens, Maggie (Larry) Thomas of Albany, Judy (Bob) Courtney of Athens, Mary (Tom) Wheatley of Athens, and Jim (Lynda) Landis of Norfolk, Va; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one due in September, and 3 great great&nbsp;grandchildren; her sister, Thelma Hutchison of Johnstown; sister-in-law, Jeanette Howdyshell of Cuyahoga Falls. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Landis; her sister, Anna Mae Harkins; and brother, Virgil Baker. Services will be Sunday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Del Dodrill officiating. Burial will be at West Union Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
