Helen Tippie

ATHENS - Helen M. Tippie, 78, of Athens, died Thursday morning, May 12, 2011 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center. Born March 8, 1933 in Pomeroy, she was the daughter of the late Delbert C. and Marie C. Morrison Williams. She was a 1952 graduate of Rome-Canaan High School. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carl V. Tippie; two daughters, Carla (James) Proudfoot and Myra (Bruce) Brown All of Reisterstown, Maryland; four grandchildren, Mark and Rachael Brown, Tim (Sarah) Proudfoot, and Laura Proudfoot all of Reisterstown, Maryland; a great grandson, Eli Proudfoot; two brothers, Raymond "Bud& Williams of Pollock, Missouri, David (Sandy) Williams of Athens; two sisters, Rachael Albright and Clara Jane Ledford both of Athens. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Johnson; two sisters, Margarie Sfakianos, Evelyn Bridgewater; and a brother, Pearl Williams. Services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev James Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 6 PM.
