Whiteside, 85, of The Plains, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital. </font><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><o:p></o:p> <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">Born Sept 20, 1925 in Bloomfield, Illinois, he was the son of the late James Grant and Grace Pfleuger.<o:p></o:p></font> <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">He was a US Army Corp Veteran of WWII and a member of The Plains United Methodist Church, American Legion, ATHENS -lks and a life member of the Masonic Lodge. He also was an avid sportsman. <o:p></o:p></font> <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris; four children, Linda Suzanne (Skip) Fuller of Land Ochr(39) Lakes, Florida, Patsy Diane (Rob) Dearing of The Plains, Richard Dean (Linda) Whiteside of Jackson, Carol Jean (George) Adelsberger of Athens; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. <o:p></o:p></font> <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 12pt"><font face="Calibri">Memorial graveside services will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Vienna, Illinois at a later date.
