ATHENS - Rose Howard Follrod, 83, of Athens, died unexpectedly, January 12, 2011 at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital after being transported there from Hickory Creek Nursing Center. Born June 10, 1927 in Lodi Township in ATHENS county, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Emma Klingenberg Howard. She was a graduate of Shade High School and retired from Columbus and Southern Electric Company after 40 years of service. She also was a member of St. Paulchr(39)s Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Crabtree and her son-in-law, David Crabtree; a granddaughter, Brianna Crabtree all of Cary, NC; two sisters, Mary Catherine (Elbert) Midkiff and Genevieve Baker all of Athens; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Follrod, Zelda Howard; a brother-in-law and his wife, Clair Edward and Osie Mae Follrod; many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to our angel Tina Hooper, who has been a wonderful friend and caretaker who lovingly cared for her during her declining health. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William H. Follrod; three brothers, Ambrose, Ernest Paul and Herman Howard; and a sister, Mary "Anne& Mansfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Paulchr(39)s Catholic Church with Mnsr Patrick Gaughan officiating. Burial will be in St. Johnchr(39)s Cemetery.
