Maxine Thomas

CHAUNCEY - Maxine Thomas, 64, of Chauncey, died Monday afternoon, January 10, 2011 at her home. Born on November 30, 1946 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late George and Patricia Blackford Bateman. She was a graduate of Chauncey Dover High School and retired from Ohio University in mail services. She is survived by two sons, Danny Thomas of Chauncey, Jerry Thomas of Millfield; four grandchildren, Justin, Drue, Jade, Briar; four siblings, Gene Bateman of Chauncey, Janie Barnhart of Chauncey, George Bateman of Millfield, Chet Bateman of The Plains; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil "Gene& Thomas in 2003. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Gary Alton officiating.
