CHAUNCEY - Charles Michael "Mike& Dains, 56, of Chauncey, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 30, 2010 at the Cincinnati Veterans Administration Hospital. Born June 5, 1954 in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Kenneth H. and Nancy L. Decker Dains. He attended ATHENS High School and was a former employee of Columbus Steel Drum Company and worked as a Rough Neck for several oil rig companies. He also was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by four sons, Charles "Mark& (Amanda) Brooks of Athens, Jimmy Bartlett of Shade, Chester (Britney) Dains of Glouster, Ralph Dains of Little Hocking; a daughter, Dora Dains Roberts of Chauncey; six grandchildren, Hunter and Chase Brooks both of Athens, Emiley and Victoria Dains both of Glouster, Cindy Watson and Kathren Roberts both of Chauncey; three brothers, Kenneth and Ronnie Dains both of Chauncey, Howard Dains of The Plains; four nieces, Sheila Riley and Linda West both of Chauncey, Terry Ailshire of Lancaster, Samantha Dains of Waynesville; two nephews, Danny Holley of California, Justin Dains of Waynesville; and other family and a special friend, Phyllis Brooks of The Plains. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Kay Dains Ailshire; two nephews, Kenny Ray Ailshire and Lee Riley; and a great nephew, Paul Michael Riley. Memorial services will be Saturday at noon at The Holliness Mission Church on State Route 691, with Stanley West officiating.
