Robert Davis

Robert Whitney Davis, age 83, of Houston, Texas passed away November 6, 2010. He was born July 14, 1927 in Westerville, Ohio. He graduated from Morgantown High School, Morgantown, West Virginia. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard during World War II. He continued his education at Ohio University and graduated from West Virginia University in 1949 with a BS in Economics and Business. He had a 30 year career with United States Steel beginning his career in the auditing area and retiring as International Sales Manager for the Oilwell Division. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Heard Davis; his son Mark (Karen) Davis of Katy, Texas, daughters Heather Davis-Van Atta (David) Poughkeepsie, NY and Deidre (Stan) Williams of Wheaton, IL. He was proud grandfather to seven grandchildren. He leaves his sisters Virginia Warlick (George) of Kingston, TN and Polly Morris (Robert) of Jefferson City, MO. He was preceded in death by his dear wife Doris Jean Miller and his sister Betty Davis Shirk of Athens. A Memorial Service will be held at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20th at 11am; a graveside service will follow at Alexander Cemetery.
