ATHENS - Dr. Clyde S. Barnhart, Sr., 94, passed away Wed, August 18, 2010, at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital, after a strong fight. He was born in Donnelsville, Ohio in 1916. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Louise, son Clyde Jr. (Heather), grandson R.C. (Heather), granddaughter Crissy (Crowe), and granddaughter Kimmi. He is also survived by his sister Florence, and great-grandsons Aiden and Carson. He is preceded in death by wife Emma, and grandson Matthew, father Charles Anthony, mother Melvina Adell, and siblings Ralph, Clarence, Stella, Forest, Wilma, and Dorothy. Clyde served his country in the Army, participating in WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. He received his education at OSU, receiving his PhD in 1958. He had a career in research and development in Maryland, retiring in 1972. He worked at C & E Hardware after moving to Ohio. He will always be remembered for his positive attitude about life. Friends may call at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home Saturday from 1 to 3 PM. Gravesides services will follow at Augustine Cemetery.
