AMESVILLE - Wayne Bartlett, 71, of Amesville, died unexpectedly, Friday afternoon, August 13, 2010 at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital. Born January 3, 1939 in ATHENS county, he was the son of the late Dorse and Lottie Dailey Bartlett. He was a retired construction worker for over 30 years and was a member of Ohio Laborers Union Local 83. He was employed for the Village of Amesville where he took pride in the upkeep of the park. He also was a foster parent for the past 16 years and a former member of the Amesville Fire Department. He was a US Army Veteran and a charter member of the Liars Bench of Amesville. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Chris; two daughters, Sue (Kelly) Jago of Amesville, Anita Bartlett of Amesville; two grandchildren, Randy Wayne Baker and Nicholas Christopher Baker; four extended grandchildren, Emily, Whitney, Crystal and Floydie; a brother, Virgil (Nancy) Bartlett of Guysville; two sisters, Roberta (Gerald) Buckley of New Marshfield, Carol (Bob) Congrove of Athens. He also was a grandfather figure to many. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Delmar, Bernard, Glenn, Richard and infant Roger Bartlett; and a sister, Charlotte Stephenson. Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Hare officiating. Burial will be in Amesville Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the ATHENS -merican Legion, ATHENS -FW and Albany VFW. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.
