Franklin Gates

THE PLAINS - Franklin E. Gates, 43, of The Plains, died early Wednesday morning, July 21, 2010 at his home. Born Nov. 11, 1966 in Athens, he was the son of Louise Barnes (Jacob) Varner of The Plains and the late James Gates. Besides his mother, he is survived by five brothers, James, Christopher, Brian, Benjamin and Daniel Gates; three step-brothers, Steven, Douglas and Mark Varner; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a step brother, Jacob Varner. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Dave Cogar officiating. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
