ATHENS - Homer Clark, 66, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Athens, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, July 11, 2010 in Fort Myers. Born Sept. 4, 1943 in Darwin, he was the son of the late Herbert Evans and Edith Hudnell Clark. Homer retired from Vermeer in 2007 as the Regional Sales Manager for South Western Florida. He also was a member of the Elks and enjoyed playing cards and playing golf. He is survived by three children, Tracy Clark of Athens, Tammy (Mark) Andrews of Athens, Amy (Matt) Gibbs of Albany; five grandchildren, Brittany Clark, Danielle, Cody, and Cassandra Tyler Andrews, and Emma Gibbs; three sisters and a brother, Hazel (Lester) Henderson of Florida, Harold (Iona) Clark of Albany, Halcie (Bob) Collette of Florida, Hester Sickels of Athens; a brother -in-law, Buddy Gwinn of Athens; a life long friend, Dean Gwinn of Athens; his girlfriend, Sherry DeComo along with many nieces, nephews and friends who loved him very much. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Harry Clark; and a sister, Hildred Gwinn. Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
