Mike Grippa

SHADE - Mike Grippa, 32, of Shade, died Friday evening, April 2, 2010 at James Cancer Hospital in Columbus after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born Dec. 17, 1977 in Lincoln, Nebraska, he was the son of Paul and Kathleen Rose Grippa of Athens. Mike was a 1996 graduate of ATHENS High School where he was a three sport athlete earning multiple varsity letters. Mike also was an avid outdoorsman and a dedicated and loving father. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lauren; a son, Sebastian; eight brothers and sisters, Lydia (Jamel) Patterson, Matt, Sarah, Caiti, Greg, Ric, Cara and Bekah Grippa. Mike also leaves one niece, Amina Patterson, three grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services will be Tuesday at 4:00 PM at The Plains United Methodist Church with Rev.
