Essie McKee

NEW MARSHFIELD - Essie Mae McKee, 97, of New Marshfield, died late Friday evening, March 19, 2010 at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 7, 1912 in Calhoun County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Lockney Rice. She is survived by two daughters, Viola (Larry) Smith of Bidwell, Marcia Haskell of Cheifland, FL; four sons, Carl (Charlotte) McKee, Dan (Nancy) McKee, Jesse (Peggy) McKee, Russell McKee all of New Marshfield; 23 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and a brother, Dale Rice. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. McKee; sons and daughter-in-laws, Donald and Lucy McKee, Stanley and Helen McKee, Everet McKee; a son-in-law, Oliver Gaskell; two grandchildren, Gail McKee, Russell Holley; three sisters, June Prosser, Josephine Rice, Anna Ross; seven brothers, Blain, Marvin, Golf, Finley, Cliffton, Charles, and Ralph Rice. Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Larry Cain officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
